COMMUNITY WORK

• To enhance the ability of teachers to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• To interact confidently with students, colleagues, and stakeholders.

• Three Sessions

Initiated a training session with community-based teachers of Karjan with a fun rapport-building session followed by imparting subject knowledge in creative methods.

Sessions included – Importance of acquiring proficiency in English communication in day-to-day life, the importance of etiquettes and manners for personal development, how to represent oneself in an effective manner (self-introduction), type of greetings in English language and its application, situational conversation practice, basic grammar session, picture reading, comprehension for correct sentence formation in English.

All the sessions were conducted with games, puzzles, oral questions – answers etc. All the participants actively participated with regular homework and healthy group discussions. This training program aimed to contribute to the professional development of rural community-based teachers of CF.

It enabled teachers to broaden their career opportunities, enhance their teaching methodologies, and stay updated with current educational practices with basic and correct English communication skills. This professional growth will positively impact their teaching career, students’ upliftment and personal development.

• To empower teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge to bridge the digital divide and enable equitable access to educational opportunities for rural students.
• To enhance technological competence and foster digital teaching and learning.

Interactive session on – the importance of acquiring proficiency in digital literacy in today’s life, proficiency in MS Office, type of posters, introduced different software for poster designing, How to design an effective poster with basic rules, layout, design and content writing, polishing skills on graphic designing, introducing techniques to simplify work through technology, how to click good photo and videos, post-editing of pictures and videos, effective PowerPoint presentation methods and styles etc.

These sessions were conducted through PPTs, TLM, games, demonstrations, and discussion with personal inputs and guidance to teachers. It was a fun interactive session with a bunch of learning exchange.

This training encouraged teachers to explore new technologies, stay updated with educational trends, and embrace ongoing learning opportunities. It fostered a growth mindset and empowers teachers to adapt to emerging technologies in the future.

• To promote physical health and well-being, enhance social skills and teamwork, build confidence and self-esteem, teach life skills and values, and promote education and academic success.

Organized a sports day event for rural students of Cosmo Foundation in Kurali village of Karjan. Encouraged the students to adopt at least one sport in their lives. Various outdoor, indoor and digital games viz. Cricket, Kabadi, Kho Kho, Typing Competition and Carrom were arranged for students.

Explained how physical strength, mental alertness, strategic thinking, and good nutrition are key components for success in sports and to stay focused simultaneously in education as well. The students were thrilled to learn the valuable lessons about teamwork, perseverance, and healthy habits. All the participants and winners were rewarded with prizes.

• 20 Computer Teachers and 20 students of Karjan

Identifying the needs of the community-based teachers, organized a detailed demonstrative session on – ‘How to appear for the interview’ and highlighted necessary key points viz. effective communication in an interview, how to respond the questions with confidence, how to give professional self-introduction, etiquette and manners, type of greetings, how to showcase documents and resume etc. Teachers actively participated in the session and gave several demonstrations.

Conducted an online webinar on the special occasion of Women’s Day 2023 – to celebrate the remarkable achievements and honour the indomitable spirit of women. The theme – “Breaking all Barriers” was to inspire, empower, and acknowledge the strength of women in breaking all barriers that stand in their way.

The webinar highlighted the significance of women in leadership, showcasing a few inspiring case stories of women leaders like – Mala Yousafzai. There were also group discussions on – How women can handle multiple tasks at a time, and, women’s ability to lift up communities and the nation.

The conclusion was that all women must embrace their uniqueness, celebrate their accomplishments, and foster a supportive community of women who lift each other up. Together we have to build a society where every woman can thrive, where opportunities are equal, and where barriers are shattered.

It inspired all the women teachers to upskill their knowledge and strive for the best recognition and sustainable development.
